A transport node profile is a template to define a configuration that is applied to all transport nodes in a vCenter cluster. Transport node profiles define transport zones, member host, vDS switch configuration including uplink profiles, IP assignment, and mapping of physical NICs to uplink virtual interfaces.
To create the transport node profile, follow the steps mentioned below:
- In the NSX Manager UI, go to System > Fabric > Profiles > Transport Node Profiles.
- Click ADD.
- In the Add Transport Node Profile window, the following values are used in this deployment:
- Name – Transport-Node-Profile
From the New Node switch section:
- Type – VDS
- Mode – Standard (All hosts)
- Name – Select cluster vCenter and provide switch name NSX-VDS
- Transport Zone – select Host-VLAN-TZ and Edge-Overlay-TZ
- Uplink Profile – select Host-Overlay-Profile
- IP Assignment – select DHCP
From the Teaming Policy Switch Mapping section, perform the following setting adjustments:
- From uplink-1 (active) – Under Physical NICs, enter uplink-1
- From uplink-2 (active) – Under Physical NICs, enter uplink-2
- Leave the remaining values at their defaults and click the ADD button.
When complete, the Transport Node Profiles tab appears as shown in the following figure:
