Creating the FE_dvSwitch distributed port groups

  • Create the following distributed port groups for the PowerFlex Management network on the FE_dvswitch:

    • flex-node-mgmt
    • flex-vmotion
    1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client. 
    2. Click Networking. 
    3. Right-click FE_dvSwitch and select Distributed Port Group > New Distribution Port Group. 
    4. Update the name to <VLAN_NAME> and click Next. 
    5. Leave the port-related options at the default values (port binding, allocation, and number of ports)
    6. Select VLAN as the VLAN type. 
    7. Set the VLAN ID to the appropriate VLAN number. 
    8. Click Next.
    9. In the Ready to complete page, review the details and click Finish. 
    10. Repeat for each distributed port group for FE_dvswitch.
