The OMNI VM is available for download from the Dell OpenManage Network Integration website. Download OMNI-version#.zip and extract OMNI-version#.ova to a location accessible from the vSphere client.
To deploy the OMNI VM, do the following:
- In the vSphere Client, right-click the services host, esx-svcs01.dell.lab, and select Deploy OVF Template.
- On the Select an OVF template page, point to the location of the OMNI .ova file and click NEXT.
- Enter a Virtual machine name and select a folder location for the OMNI VM. The default location is used in this example, as shown in the following figure.
- Click NEXT.
- On the Select a compute resource page, select the services host, esx-svcs01.dell.lab. Ensure that Compatibility checks succeeded displays at the bottom of the page.
- Click NEXT. After the validation is complete, the Review details page displays.
- Acknowledge the certificate warnings and click NEXT.
- On the License agreements page, review the terms provided. If you agree, check the I accept all license agreements box and click NEXT.
- On the Select storage page, select a datastore on the services host. Ensure Compatibility checks succeeded displays at the bottom of the page.
- Click NEXT.
- On the Select networks page, change the two destination networks as shown in the figure below. Note: The ens160 and ens192 labels in the following image are for reference only. They are used during OMNI console configuration.
Be sure to set the correct Destination Networks as configured on the services host.
Note: For this example, the (in-band) Management Network is not provided as a vCenter Server Destination Network option from the drop-down list. The following figure shows the VM Network on the same vSwitch and VLAN as the Management Network. VM Network is provided as an option for the vCenter Server Destination Network and is selected in this example.
- Click NEXT.
- On the Ready to complete page, review the settings.
- Click FINISH to deploy the OMNI VM. Note: OMNI VM installation may take about 3 minutes.
