In this deployment, there are two SmartFabric instances, one at each site. The same OMNI VM is used to manage both SmartFabrics.
- In a browser, go to https://OMNI_FQDN_or_IP_address/. Note: You can use the OMNI FQDN or either OMNI IP address depending on the network you are connecting from.
- Click LAUNCH OMNI FABRIC MANAGEMENT PORTAL and log in.
- On the SFS/SFSS tab, click +CREATE.
- In the Add Service Instance window, enter the following for the SmartFabric instance at the first site:
- Address - This is the IP address of the SmartFabric master switch in the first site. It may be determined by running show smartfabric cluster at the CLI of any switch in the SmartFabric in the first site.
- SmartFabric Name – Enter any descriptive name, such as Site01
- User Name – Enter REST_USER
- Password – Enter the REST_USER password. The default password is admin. Note: To change the default REST_USER password, see the OpenManage Network Integration for SmartFabric Services User Guide, Release 3.0. The guide is available on the Dell OpenManage Network Integration website.
- Check the Register for SFS Events box, as shown.
- Click ADD. The SmartFabric instance appears in two places, outlined in red in the figure below. A Success message displays.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add the SmartFabric instance for the second site. Note: You can register and manage up to 15 SmartFabric instances in OMNI.When complete, the SFS/SFSS tab shows both of the SmartFabric instances.
