Test connectivity

  • After the ESXi hosts have been configured on the Management network, verify they are configured correctly as follows:

    1. Connect to the DCUI of a vSAN cluster host with the ESXi shell enabled.
      Esx01 is used in this example.
    2. Press Alt+F1 to switch to the ESXi shell and log in as root.
    3. Ping the management IP address of the other ESXi nodes, including the witness host, with the command ping ip_address .
    4. All configured nodes must respond to the pings.
      This confirms the network is configured properly at all three sites.
