This section details the configuration of the S4148F-ON switch used for DCI-Site-1 in this deployment example. See DCI switch topology and Table 1 as needed.
Enter configuration mode with the configure terminal command. Configure the hostname, OOB management IP address, and management route as shown.
Note: A management route is only needed if routing is used on the OOB management network.

Configure the interfaces for connections to the SFS switches in Site 1. Ports 1/1/25 and 1/1/26 are configured as L3 interfaces with the no switchport command. The IP addresses used are from Table 1. Use the mtu 9216 command to allow the forwarding of jumbo frames.
Create port channel 10 for the connection to Site 2, configure it as an L3 interface with the no switchport command and specify the IP address from Table 1. Assign interfaces to the port channel, and allow the forwarding of jumbo frames using the mtu 9216 command.
Create port channel 20 for the connection to Site 3 in the same manner.

Configure a loopback interface to use for the BGP router ID.
Enable Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD). BFD rapidly detects communication failures between two adjacent routers.
Run the router bgp AS_number command to specify the router AS number and enter BGP configuration mode. Specify the IP address used as the router ID.
Configure the BGP ASN with the router bgp command. Use the address that was set for interface loopback0 as the router ID.
Enter address family configuration mode with the address-family ipv4 unicast command. Specify the redistribute connected command to redistribute IPv4 routes from physically connected interfaces.
Specify the first BGP neighbor’s IP address from Table 1. Enter the BGP advertisement interval in seconds. Enable BFD, fast fall-over, and specify the neighbor’s AS number. Repeat this set of commands for each BGP neighbor.
When the configuration is complete, exit configuration mode and save the configuration with the end and write memory commands.
