VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) is a utility that balances computing workloads with available resources in a virtualized environment. DRS works on a cluster of ESXi hosts and provides resource management capabilities like load balancing and virtual machine (VM) placement.
Starting with Data Manager 19.16, you can now use DRS for VM restores. This feature must be enabled on the VMware side. If a user selects a cluster for restoring a VM which has DRS enabled in it, we will be able to see it on the Data Manager UI under Summary tab
If a user selects a cluster for restoring a VM which has DRS disabled in it, they will be able to see it on the Data Manager UI under the Restore Location tab.
Note: The DRS feature is only supported for Instant Access and Restore to VM restore type option.
