Before proceeding with configuring PowerStore subsystems review the PowerStore network requirements section in the Network Planning chapter.
Based on your solution, select the appropriate method of discovery and go to the resulting configuration step in the guide.
Starting with Dell PowerStoreOS 3.0, discovery of the PowerStore subsystems can be automated. If the connection between CDC and subsystem is over Layer 3, manual discovery of the PowerStore subsystems is necessary.
In each CDC instance, check if the discovery of the subsystems has already completed automatically. If it has, this task is complete.
If the subsystems have not appeared in SFSS, check the PowerStore NVMe Discovery Options configuration.

This section provides the instructions to manually register the PowerStore Direct Discovery Controllers (DDC) in SFSS.
DDCs are created when the Storage IPs are initialized. There are four DDCs in this example:
The following provides the information that is required to complete the registration process. The steps that follow use the first row of information in the DDC registration information table to guide you through the addition of the first DDC. Use the remaining rows of information to complete the process of adding all four DDCs.
CDC Instance | SAN | PowerStore controller | Address | Port ID |
1 | SAN-A | Node-A | 172.18.21.191 | 8009 |
Node-B | 172.18.21.192 | |||
2 | SAN-B | Node-A | 172.18.22.191 | |
Node-B | 172.18.22.192 |
This section demonstrates the pull registration of PowerStore DDCs in SFSS. SAN A Endpoints are registered in CDC Instance 1, and SAN B Endpoints are registered in CDC Instance 2.
