Generic application backup files must be recalled from the Cloud Tier to the active tier before restoring the generic application files. Once a generic application backup file is recalled, its age policy is reset and it starts again from 0, and the generic application backup file is eligible, based on the age policy set. All the generic application backup files can be recalled on the same MTree.
Perform the following steps to recall the generic application backup files:
1. Ensure that the BoostFS file system is mounted on the backup host VM.
2. Generic application backup files can only be recalled from the cloud to an active MTree. Recall a generic application file or files to the active tier by running the following command:
# data-movement recall path <path-name>
For example:
# data-movement recall path /data/col1/cloud_tier/gadatao1.dbf
1. Run the following command to list all recall jobs:
# data-movement status path all
