Integration of PowerFlex with DDVE with the AWS cloud platform provides a backup solution to the customers running different types of generic applications and enterprise databases. For example, an Oracle database running on PowerFlex software-defined storage can securely store backup to an Amazon S3 object storage used as a DD storage unit. This reference architecture solution shows that the BoostFS and the Oracle RMAN agent on DD client machines running in the AWS cloud can be easily deployed. The validation shows efficient deduplication and compression benefits using BoostFS for generic applications and the Oracle RMAN agent for an Oracle stand-alone database running in the AWS cloud platform.
