The running configuration contains the current OS10 system configuration and consists of a series of OS10 commands. Copy the configuration to a remote server or local directory as a backup or for viewing and editing. The running configuration is copied as a text file that you can view and edit with a text editor.
Manual backup of IOM configuration provides a backup of the running configuration. To back up the chassis, including the SmartFabric settings, use the instructions in Backing up the chassis.
Copy running configuration to startup configuration
To display the configured settings in the current OS10 session, use the show running-configuration. To save new configuration settings across system reboots, copy the running configuration to the startup configuration file.
OS10# copy running-configuration startup-configuration
Back up startup file to local directory
OS10# copy config://startup.xml config://backup-9-28.xml
Restore startup file from backup
OS10# copy config://backup-9-28.xml config://startup.xml
OS10# reload
System configuration has been modified. Save? [yes/no]:no
There are several options to copy files from the IOM to a remote server through many protocols. These options can be found in the Dell SmartFabric OS10 User Guide.
