A Tier-1 gateway has uplink ports to connect to a Tier-0 gateway for external network connectivity, and downlink ports to connect to NSX-T segments.
To create a Tier-1 gateway, perform the following steps.
- In the NSX Manager web UI, select .
- Click ADD TIER-1 GATEWAY and enter the following values:
- Tier-1 Gateway Name – Tier-1-01
- Linked Tier-0 Gateway – select the Tier-0 gateway, Tier-0-01, from the drop-down menu.
- Edge Cluster – select nsx-edge-cluster01 from the drop-down menu.
- Next to Edges, click Set.
- In the Select Edges window:
- Click ADD EDGE.
- Select nsxedge01 and click ADD.
- Click ADD EDGE.
- Select nsxedge02 and click ADD.
- Click APPLY.
- Click SAVE.
- Click YES to continue the configuration of the Tier-1 gateway.
- Expand Route Advertisement. For this example, all sliders are moved to the right to enable all items.
- Click.
- On the Tier-1 Gateways page, expand the view by clicking
next to Tier-1-01 and Route Advertisement.
