  • Dell Technologies offers a wide range of general-purpose and HPC storage solutions. For a general overview of the Dell HPC solution portfolio, see Dell Technologies HPC solutions. 

    It is recommended to use two tiers of storage for DVD for HPC Life Sciences: general-purpose and high-performance scratch tiers. A simple NAS storage solution is suitable for general-purpose storage such as a home directory for users. There are a wide range of Dell PowerScale options for this purpose, and DVD for BeeGFS storage in the high-capacity configuration can also be used. For the high-performance tier, either a parallel NAS or a parallel file system can be added depending on the workloads, the number of compute nodes, and the number of users. The Dell PowerScale F600 all-flash NAS, with a raw storage capacity of 138 TB to 186 PB, provides enough performance for NGS data analysis. For HPC systems requiring a high-performance parallel file system, DVD for BeeGFS storage in the high-performance configuration is recommended. This solution provides 25.6 TB of raw storage capacity per storage server and can be expanded to any required storage capacity.
