The basic configuration steps to configure the Multi-Stream backup feature with PowerScale are below. The number of Data Readers/Streams configured will be evenly distributed between the data paths, if multiple data paths are defined in a Subclient. This feature is enabled by default when PowerScale is the NAS client, and when both the device streams value under the storage policy and the data readers value under the Subclient are greater than one.
Basic configuration steps:
From the CommCell Browser > Policies > Storage Policies > right-click [newly created PowerScale NDMP storage policy created above] > Properties > General tab
Device Streams: [equal to the total number of drives available in the tape libraries configured on the storage policy as data paths]
Commvault: Set or adjust the number of Data Readers under each NAS Subclient
From the CommCell Browser > Client Computers > [PowerScale cluster] > NAS > defaultBackupSet > right-click [Subclient] > Properties > Advanced Options tab
Number of Data Readers: [number of tape drives this Subclient should use from those available under the storage policy]
Click OK
