The 100 GbE solution with external Z9432F-ON FSE can support both 25 GbE and 100 GbE within the same deployment. The Z9432F-ON port groups and port modes can be configured to operate with a variety of speeds and breakouts. The restrictions on the port groups and operation mode might affect interface capability and deployment options. Support for 25 GbE and 100 GbE within the same deployment is limited to each individual chassis. Each chassis must contain a server module with mezzanine cards that operate with the same 25 GbE or 100 GbE speed. An individual chassis must have all 25 GbE or all 100 GbE mezzanine cards.
Single fabric. Applies to dual port 100 GbE and dual port and quad port 25 GbE NICs.
The 100 GbE and 25 GbE single fabric topology in the following diagram shows the basic connections for up to eight MX760c server modules in each chassis. Each MX760c server module has a 100 GbE or 25 GbE mezzanine card installed in its mezzanine A slot for each chassis.
This example shows Fabric A populated with two MX8116n FEM. Additional chassis can be added to the deployment using the same methodology: connecting successive chassis to the Z9432F-ON FSE pair.
Dual fabric, combined fabrics. Applies to dual port 100 GbE and dual port and quad port 25 GbE NICs.
