Validation overview

  • To build out our design in the lab, we needed to integrate infrastructure to simulate a mobile vehicle (such as a bus), a transportation depot, and a data center. As shown previously, our design used different hardware for each layer:

    • Bus - EPIC iO Universal IOT Gateway (UIG) edge device
    • Depot - Dell Rugged XR 4000 servers
    • Data center - VxRail CV Platform

    In addition to the above hardware, we validated the solution with a Private 5G network in the lab to test the reliable offloading of data from the vehicle to the depot.

    To ensure that all these different components worked together, we validated multiple use cases in the lab to demonstrate the capabilities and identify the solution's optimal sizing.
