During our testing, we have shown how buses that are equipped with an EPIC iO UIG running DeepInsights software can easily integrate with a private 5G network to ensure secure and reliable video offload to a depot or terminal. Many other vehicle types used for public transportation could also leverage this solution.

We also demonstrated how the solution handles cases where mobile vehicles lose connection to the depot during data offloading. This use case is part of normal daily operations. We have shown how the system works seamlessly when the vehicle returns to be within range of the 5G network.

We also showed how to protect video data offloaded from the edge device on a bus and bring it back to a private data center for long-term storage/analysis. The approach will also preserve a complete timeline for every bus at every depot, often needed in compiling evidence for legal proceedings.

Finally, we showed how this design delivers excellent resilience at the depot. Depots dispersed throughout a vast geography can be a complex environment for data management. This design has been built with redundancy at the depot so that a whole server can fail and the workload will run uninterrupted without losing video.
