Select the external management network subnet

  • There is one overall management network for Cloud Foundation on VxRail. The management components for VxRail, Cloud Foundation and NSX all share this same subnet.

    The following components will all require an IP address on this management network:

    • CloudBuilder will require a temporary IP address to build the management domain
    • SDDC Manager
    • The VxRail Manager instance for the cluster supporting the management domain
    • The VxRail (ESXi) nodes supporting the management domain
    • Each vCenter instance deployed to support a workload domain
    • The management components for each unique NSX instance (three NSX Manager nodes and a single virtual IP address).

    Ensure that the subnet range selected is of sufficient size for all the expected components.
