Cloud Foundation on VxRail depends on access to external sites outside of the customer data center for certain features and functionality to work.

- Direct access to customer service sites for both VMware and Dell provides a more efficient response process to support issues, and a streamlined method to perform lifecycle management. Access can be configured to directly connect with support services, or a proxy server can be used to align with networking security policies.
- Dell’s ‘call-home’ feature enables VxRail Manager to directly contact support services in the event of a serious or critical failure, thereby expediting resolution with Dell support. The Dell Secure Connect Gateway virtual appliance can be deployed in the data center to consolidate ‘call-home’ connectivity for Dell products in the data center. As an alternative, direct connectivity by VxRail Manager is also supported.
