Because SmartFabric mode provides network automation capabilities that Full Switch mode does not, the number of supported VLANs differs between the modes. The following table provides the recommended maximum number of VLANs per fabric, uplink, and server port. For a SmartFabric created with OME-M version 1.20.10 or earlier, you must enable support for VLAN counts larger than 256 per fabric. A SmartFabric created with OME-M version 1.30.00 or later has this support automatically enabled. See the Enable support for larger VLAN counts for more information.
If the number of configured VLANs is more than 500, it is recommended to have IGMP/MLD snooping enabled only on the VLANs that required it and should not exceed 500. With configured VLANs less than 500, disable IGMP/MLD snooping globally. Beginning with OME-M 1.30.00, IGMP/MLD snooping can be enabled in SmartFabric mode.
