Upgrade
To upgrade the Firmware on MXG610s FC switch, perform the following steps:
- Validate the current Fabric OS version and other build information by running version command on MXG610 IOM.
- Back up your switch configuration before the firmware downloads. Enter the supportsave command to collect all current core files. Also, include all serial consoles and any open network connection sessions, such as TELNET, with any troubleshooting reports. Note: The FTP protocol is being deprecated starting with Fabric OS version 9.0.1a. Uploads or downloads using FTP may not be supported. For release notes and MXG610s software, contact Dell Technical Support.
- Enter the firmwaredownload command to download the firmware. You will need to provide the Server Name or IP address, File name, Username, Network Protocol (1-auto-select, 2-FTP, 3-SCP, 4-SFTP) to be used, and the password.
- When issued with the path to the directory where the firmware is stored, it automatically performs search for the correct package file type associated with the switch.
Firmware upgrades are available for customers with support service contracts and for partners on the Dell Technologies website https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us?app=drivers.
