Create VxRail server profiles

  • Initial VxRail deployment for a stretched cluster requires a minimum of three VxRail nodes, and a maximum of 16. During initial deployment, the VxRail nodes may all be in Site 1, or spread between Sites 1 and 2 as is done in this example. After initial deployment, more VxRail nodes may be added at either site as needed. Dell Technologies recommends using the same number of VxRail nodes at Sites 1 and 2 in a production environment.

    Note: Before proceeding, be sure the VxRail nodes are connected to the SmartFabric leaf switches and powered on.

    Create the VxRail server profiles in the Site 1 SmartFabric as shown in the Create server interface profiles for the first VxRail cluster section of Dell Networking SmartFabric Services Deployment with VxRail 7.0.400. Repeat the process to create the VxRail server profiles in the Site 2 SmartFabric.
