Deploy OMNI

  • With OMNI, networks created in vCenter are automatically configured in the SmartFabric. OMNI must be able to communicate with the vCenter on the External Management network and with the SmartFabric in each site on the OOB Management network.

    OMNI is deployed to the esx-svcs01 host in this example. As an alternative, OMNI can be deployed to a VxRail host in the stretched cluster after VxRail is deployed. However, OMNI requires a connection to the OOB Management network, which may not be available on the VxRail hosts.

    Note: Fault tolerance is not required for OMNI. If OMNI goes offline, the OMNI features are unavailable during that time, but the network continues to function.
