This section describes how to add a SmartFabric instance in OMNI. You can add up to 15 SmartFabric instances in a single OMNI VM.
To add a SmartFabric instance, perform the following steps.
- Identify the master IP address of the switch in a SmartFabric cluster by using the show smartfabric cluster command in the OS10 switch CLI:

S5248F-Leaf1A#Note: Alternatively the user can go to one of the IP addresses assigned to an OOB Mgmt port in the fabric in a web browser. This will redirect to the correct Leader IP address and can be captured for adding the fabric to OMNI.
- Open the OMNI fabric management portal using https://omni.dell.local, and then select the Fabric Management Portal.
- Log in to OMNI using your admin username and password.
- Under SmartFabric on the OMNI Home page, click CREATE.
- For this service instance, enter the OOB IP address of the SFS master switch as the SmartFabric Address and provide a SmartFabric Name.
Note: Enter the User Name as REST_USER, enter the Password as admin, and enable Register for SFS events to retrieve the SFS events and display them through OMNI.
Note: The REST_USER password can be changed from the Lifecycle Management section of the OMNI UI.
- Click ADD. The success message is displayed in the green bar.
- Click the SmartFabric instance on the left menu to view details.
