With SAP HANA Tailored Datacenter Integration (TDI) phase 5, SAP introduced SAP HANA system sizing that is based on customer workload. This sizing method uses SAP application performance standard (SAPS) requirements for specific customer workloads to determine the type and number of processors that are required to run SAP HANA. Customers use the SAP HANA Quick Sizer tool and sizing reports, and provide the results to Dell EMC to determine the optimal number of vSAN Ready Nodes, CPU types, and memory sizes for their SAP HANA environment.
For more information about any limitations of the vSphere virtual machine (VM) and vSAN that might affect sizing, see the VMware and SAP documentation links in References.
