This section of the Design Guide describes the validation testing completed in the Dell Solutions Engineering lab. Our Smart Transportation solution platform was chosen for the Secureworks validation since the resource requirements needed to capture, record, and process computer vision analytics for hundreds of video streams are both resource-intensive and time-critical. The environment we used for validation is the same fully virtualized suite of applications running on a VxRail cluster with HA features enabled as described in our earlier Design Guide publications for our Virtualized Computer Vision for Smart Transportation solutions.
We first document the setup required for validation. Our installation steps and configuration was integrated with a fully functioning virtualized Computer Vision for Smart Transportation platform. The required computing, networking, and storage resources were provisioned as recommended by the Secureworks documentation in consultation with our Secureworks engineering team support guidance. After we had a complete solution deployed with the Secureworks VDR and XDR products integrated with our Smart Transportation platform, we measured the additional resource consumption impacts associated with vulnerability and threat monitoring. We started a comprehensive simulated VMS and computer vision workloads to capture our baseline metrics for comparison. The Secureworks XDR and VDR scans were added both independently (VDR and XDR only) and simultaneously (both VDR and XDR) for our impact analysis.
