To configure L2 uplinks to the external networks:
- From the SFS UI, click the Uplink tab at the top of the UI.
- Select +Create.
- On the Uplink Details page, select Layer 2.
- Enter a Name (required) and Description (Optional) in the fields that are provided, and then click NEXT.
- On the Port Configuration page, select the rack to create the uplink on. In this example, Rack-01 is used.
- Select the appropriate interfaces for each switch in Rack-01. This example uses 1/1/1 and 1/1/2 on both switches.
- For the Port Channel, LACP is selected in this example. Note: Ensure that the external switches are configured with the same port channel type as configured here.
- Click NEXT.
- Select the drop-down in the Network Selection section to set the wanted networks. In this example all networks - Mgmt-1811, vMotion, vSAN, and VM_Network - are selected as tagged.
- Select whether automatically created networks on the Fabric through vCenter integration are automatically extended on the uplink. The default is No.Note: Networks that are created through vCenter integration refer to networks that are created in vCenter that are automatically configured on the SmartFabric switches by OMNI.
After the uplink is configured, the Uplink page in the SFS UI displays. - To view configured interfaces and networks on the uplink, go to the Uplink tab.
- Click the radio button next to the network name.
The uplinks are now also shown on the Topology tab.
