As discussed in the section above, video data transfer and retention are challenging for large systems with many vehicles and facilities. The role of a private data center is to be the central collection and retention hub for large systems.
The DeepInsights platform, including the DeepVision component, is designed to manage data from cameras and IoT sensors using a systematic approach for multisite implementations. UIG devices on each vehicle connect to one or more sites to offload data locally. This approach minimizes latency and reduces the bandwidth needed compared to direct data transfer over wireless networking from every device to a central location.
Data is then securely transmitted to a central private storage system from each site using encryption and secure protocols to protect data integrity and privacy. Less time-sensitive trending analysis and historical search can be processed on demand using more powerful resources in a private data center.
DeepInsights ensures that data handling and storage comply with relevant regulations, like GDPR or HIPAA, to protect individual privacy and meet legal requirements. Data access is also controlled and monitored to prevent unauthorized access or breaches. Different levels of access can be set for users based on their roles and requirements.
The system is designed to be scalable, allowing for adding new sites or integrating new data sources without significant overhaul. Additional third-party analytics solutions can be integrated with DeepInsights to meet the specific needs of different environments. The DeepInsights private cloud component provides a robust framework for managing and analyzing data across multiple sites, driving insights and operational efficiency in complex, multisite environments.
