Alerts can be configured with Splunk to monitor for and respond to specific event. Alerts trigger when search results meet specific conditions. You can use alert actions to respond when alerts trigger.
As shown in Figure 68, a sample alert with name “Cyber Threat Anomaly Detection” is configured to send email alert when the trigger conditions are satisfied.
Figure 69 shows the Splunk alert configuration options.
Figure 70 shows the sample email alert that is triggered by Splunk with consolidated cyber threat event report in a PDF format.
The attached PDF file contains the consolidated event details as shown in Figure 71.
