A multi-region architecture provides disaster recovery across different Cloud Foundation on VxRail instances. The regions have a similar physical layer and virtual infrastructure designs but have separate management domains.
Ensure application availability across disparate Cloud Foundation on VxRail instances, solutions such as vSphere Replication or RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines are used to replicate between sites, provided there is adequate bandwidth and the latency between regions is less than 150 milliseconds.
As compared to a multi-availability architecture, the distance between sites in a multi-region architecture can be significantly larger. However, depending on replication settings, and the applications being protected, a multi-region solution will not meet the same RPO and RTO requirements of a multi-availability solution.
