Cloud Foundation workload domain task outline

  • Configuring a Cloud Foundation on VxRail workload domain requires at least one fully deployed VxRail cluster to serve as the underlying resource pool. The following outline describes the steps to deploy a Cloud Foundation on VxRail VI workload domain:

    1. Capture the settings for the VI workload domain and for the initial VxRail cluster that will support the VI workload domain
    2. Configure the adjacent top-of-rack switches to support the new workload domain and VxRail cluster
    1. Install the VxRail nodes in the data center racks and connect the nodes to the switch ports
    2. Power on the VxRail nodes
    3. Select a method for VI workload domain deployment
      1. SDDC Manager user interface
      2. Workflow optimization script uploaded to SDDC Manager
