This section provides the guidelines and best practices to be followed for the MongoDB cluster:
- Before the deployment, plan the database size and required performance level.
- When you configure the virtual CPU and memory for the virtual machines that are used by MongoDB, choose an appropriate CPU and memory number to suit the user requirements.
- Choose a proper data durability option to meet the business requirements. Set an appropriate write acknowledgment (write-concern) value considering the tradeoffs between performance and potential data loss.
- For example, without PowerFlex, a typical MongoDB deployment may use one primary and two secondary copies of the data. With PowerFlex, such deployment can use one secondary, due to PowerFlex ability to add data protection and resiliency.
