The primary focus of the solution validation is on resource utilization and sizing.

The scope of lab validation also includes:

• Setting up the partner software solution in a lab environment.
• Configuring use case scenarios.
• Execution of test scenarios to capture hardware utilization metrics using simulated virtual videos.
• Document hardware metrics and sizing guidelines.

The guidelines for sizing the ISS solution use the following components:

• Dell PowerEdge server
• Dell VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure
• VMware vSphere

The configurations that are documented in this guide are based on tests conducted in the Dell Digital Cities Innovation Lab and data from production implementations that are shared by ISS.

The key objectives of the validation are the following:

• Basic functional testing
• Performance testing
• Measuring the needs of specific system requirements to correctly size an implementation and match the appropriate Dell Technologies products to customer requirements.

The solution validation process involves both high-level functional verification and performance sizing tests. The functional test verifies basic functionality of the SecurOS application modules. The validation testing process simulates the scenarios that are prescribed for the solution, and documents the observations under each scenario and captures corresponding performance metrics.
