Introduction

  • The Dell Validated Design for Risk Assessment uses standardized, domain-specific system recommendations. The building blocks consist of infrastructure servers, storage, networking, and compute servers. Configuration recommendations are provided for each of the building blocks. The recommendations are based on the findings from performance testing using the STAC-A2 benchmark. This benchmark applies to financial nontrading use cases and workloads, and focuses on:

    • Risk Assessment—Customers need to evaluate and test millions of hypothetical scenarios to generate risk calculations and make predictive decisions.
    • Pricing—Customers need to model thousands of scenarios to calibrate pricing for numerous financial products to market conditions in real time. These financial products include insurance quotes, credit card rates, and mortgage rates.
    • Fraud Protection—Customers need to detect suspicious behavior and anomalies in real time. Credit card companies can deny illegitimate charges, and insurance providers can identify suspicious claims.
