This white paper supports customers who are facing infrastructure challenges by leveraging Dell’s validated design configurations as starting points for design solutions. This solution can help customers save time, resources, and money.
Two baseline designs address the intersection of HPC, AI, and data analytics workloads with a single system, while a third baseline design addresses dedicated systems to support traditional HPC compute intensive workloads. This design approach leverages building block options for servers, networking, storage, and software to provide flexibility in design architecture. The baseline designs are benchmarked for traditional HPC workloads and AI workloads. Bright Cluster Manager software from Bright Computing is used to build and manage clusters for HPC and Data Science as a single entity. Table 1 lists the functional building blocks.
