The SACRU is focused on accelerated workloads. It is also based on a 48U rack, with the PowerEdge R750xa as the platform of choice. The R750xa is a powerful system that has the flexibility to support many types of accelerators including four dual width GPUs. 21 R750xa are connected to two Cornelis Omni-Path Express Edge Switches.
A single high-speed network connection is a bottleneck for certain workloads with multiple accelerators in a server. To avoid bottleneck, this SACRU has two Omni-Path Express HFAs per server. The edges switches have sufficient uplinks to allow a non-blocking fabric. There is a single Ethernet management switch and three empty rack units for cable management.
