Both Dell PowerEdge XE8545 and PowerEdge R7525 can process more than 20 50x WGS per day using NVIDIA Clara Parabricks. A similar daily analysis throughput using a traditional x86 CPU architecture requires eight PowerEdge C6420 compute nodes. The complete architecture is scheduled for publication soon.
In addition to speed, compatibility with other analysis tools is essential for the comparability of results. The Clara Parabricks germline analysis results are nearly identical to the well-known BWA-Mem GATK HaplotypeCaller analysis from prior testing. Dell Technologies wanted to also compare the Clara Parabricks variant calling results to other toolsets like samtools-mpileup. These two different tools reach ~90% overall agreement for identified variants. Variations in many well-known genomic regions containing important genes agree more than 99%.
