The Data Domain controller models DD9410 and DD9910 support up to Gen 4 or Gen 5 PCIe Express adapters, depending on the slot. Four slots (slot #s 1, 2, 7, and 8) support Gen 5; slots 3 through 6 support Gen 4 PCIe adapter cards.
The new Data Domain models support three different types of PCIe adapter cards:
Slots 3 and 6 support only half height half-length cards and they are dedicated to two SAS HBAs in the base configuration. SAS HBAs provide host and DAE interface connection.
HBA355i is a SAS 3.0, 12 Gbps adapter which provides interface capability to the internal SAS storage sub-system. It provides two x8 ports of SAS 12Gbps connectivity using internal cables to the SAS expander board.
HBA355e-s is a SAS 3.0, 12 Gbps I/O module that provides DAE interface capability. It provides four x4 ports of SAS 12Gbps connectivity with Mini-SAS HD cables.
Stormysky 100Gb Ethernet HBA is an Ethernet HBA based on the Mellanox ConnectX-4 Controller.
Cloudsky 25Gb Ethernet HBA is a dual port 25Gb HBA with SFP28 interface based on the Qlogic QL41202 Controller.
Mudslide 10GbBaseT Ethernet HBA is a quad port 10GBaseT Ethernet HBA based on Qlogic QL41202 Controller.
Sunnysky 10Gb Ethernet HBA is a full height quad port 10Gb Ethernet HBA with SFP+ interface based on the Qlogic QL41202 Controller.
Whirlpool Fiber Channel HBA is a quad-port Fiber Channel HBA. It supports 4Gb, 8Gb and 16 Gb speed.
OCP card is a replacement of rNDC in the previous generation models. OCP is for general purpose IO slots for host connection, and it is limited to use either 4 port 10 Gb Base-T or 10/25 Gb SFP. It comes with a base configuration. The OCP NIC has four ports named ethMa, ethMb, ethMc and ethMd where M stands for management. The OCP port is preferred to LOM (Lan Over Motherboard) because it has only 1G BaseT. LOM comes with a chassis. The port name comes with ethLa and ethLb.
All HBA cards including OCP are not hot pluggable. Both Data Domain 9410 and 9910 would need downtime to replace any card.
