Having a cyber protection strategy is a must. Leveraging Disk Library for mainframe (DLm) in a cyber protection strategy extends your data preservation capabilities and increases the likelihood of continued business operations if a cyber event occurs. The cyber protection strategy specific to DLm is a collaboration of technology—DLm and PowerProtect DD—along with Dell Deployment Services and customer actions to enable an end-to-end solution. 

To provide cyber data protection with DLm, Dell looks to deploy a vault environment within the customer data center that can receive data from the customer’s production environment. Within the customer’s vault environment, the DLm, PowerProtect DD, and PowerProtect Cyber Recovery Server, manage:

• Replicating the data from the production DLm environment to the vault environment
• Creating copies of the data on the PowerProtect DD system
• Locking the data so that it is read-only
