Deploy the NSX edge cluster for the workload domain

  • Deploy the w01 NSX edge cluster per the VMware Cloud Foundation for VxRail Deployment Procedures on Dell Technologies SolVe Online. During deployment of the edge cluster, be sure to specify the following network settings:

    • Set the edge cluster MTU to 9000.
    • Set the Tier-0 Routing Type to eBGP.
    • Set the BGP Peer ASN to match the ASN of the SmartFabric leaf switches. This is 65011 by default.
    • Leave the BGP Peer Password fields blank. SFS does not support BGP passwords.

    All settings used for this deployment example are shown in the table below for reference.

    After deploying the NSX edge cluster, enable BFD on the Tier-0 gateway in NSX Manager. This is covered in VMware Cloud Foundation 4.5 on Dell VxRail.

    After deployment of both domains and edge clusters is complete, the vSphere Client inventory page for this example appears as shown in the figure below.
