The VxRail cluster requires the following services during the initial bring-up of the cluster:
- Domain Naming Services (DNS): This service is required to deploy the VxRail cluster and for ongoing operations.
- Network Time Protocol (NTP): This service is used to keep the clock settings of the entire cluster synchronized. The service is optional depending on the specific VxRail version. For this deployment with VxRail version 8.0, NTP service is optional.
- VMware vCenter: The VxRail solution depends on VMware vCenter for cluster management and operations. This vCenter can be the embedded instance provided with VxRail, or an external vCenter. This deployment uses the embedded vCenter instance.
Note: In this deployment, external DNS and NTP server examples are used with L2 and L3 uplinks.
