This solution design uses virtualization for every component of the VMS and CV applications. The VxRail cluster described in this design can be deployed and integrated with a new or existing vCenter management application.

One advantage of choosing VMware virtualization and NVIDIA GPUs for our design is the availability of virtualized GPUs. The vGPU feature is well integrated with the traditional benefits of virtualized operating systems and vSAN virtualized storage. The VxRail can also support a traditional passthrough configuration of the NVIDIA GPU PCI-E devices.

The long-term goal of our design is to use vGPU for all servers and applications. A vGPU-enabled infrastructure provides the most flexibility when migrating cluster workloads during maintenance and unplanned failover scenarios. NVIDIA provides a flexible licensing implementation and a distribution server to operate vGPUs in a VMware environment seamlessly.
