The white paper focuses on the options available for correctly using SCOM for monitoring and alerting on a Dell EMC Integrated System deployment. The options that are described in this white paper include:
- For hardware monitoring and alerting, create a tiered monitoring ecosystem. Dell EMC OpenManage Enterprise and Dell EMC OpenManage Network Manager serve as collection and consolidation points for each scale unit (SU). They are then configured to forward alerts based on Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and SYSLOG to an external SCOM instance.
- For monitoring the software layer of the solution, use the Microsoft System Center Management Pack for Microsoft Azure Stack Hub (Management Pack).
