This book assumes the user is running the most current version of the SRDF SRA, 10.1.0. For a consolidated view of compatibility with VMware software refer to Table 2 at the end of this section.
The SRDF SRA version 10.1.x for VMware SRM supports the following arrays:
Refer to the Dell Support Matrix, SRA Release Notes and SRDF Product guides for in-depth interoperability information.
Solutions Enabler version 10.1.0 is the minimum version of the software required for the SRDF SRA version 10.1.0.
When using a Windows implementation for SRM[8], Solutions Enabler must be installed on the SRM servers before installation of the SRDF SRA. The installation need not be the same as the one used for the array manager, though it can be. If it is used as an array manager it can be a local or a client/server configuration. The SRM Appliance does not require, nor does it support, a local Solutions Enabler installation. It only requires remote Solution Enabler installations for the array managers.
The following table details the interoperability of the SRDF SRA release with the following components:

a. The SRA supports any Solutions Enabler point release/patch beyond the initially supported release, as long as it is not accompanied by a new SRA version.
b. For complete and detailed VMware supported platforms, see the VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager Compatibility Matrix available on the VMware support website.
c. The SRA supports VMware Site Recovery Manager patched releases beyond the initially supported major re- lease. Dell will not do additional qualification, however, so it may not appear in VMware’s compatibility matrix. Major releases, e.g., 8.9, would need qualification from VMware and/or Dell, though if there are no major code changes impacting array SRAs, VMware will simply grant equivalency (support) as it did for SRM 8.8 for example.
Note: Beginning with SRM version 8.4, VMware no longer supports the Windows implementation. The SRM Appliance must be used. For those customers who use Windows and desire to upgrade to SRM 8.4, VMware provides a methodology to migrate from the Windows version to the appliance version. The array manager configurations will also migrate so no additional Solution Enabler installs should be required if re-using existing ones. Please see the VMware SRM documentation for the process.
