Data Center Interconnect (DCI) connects two or more geographically distributed data centers. Some of the business use cases for DCI include business continuity (zero downtime), workload mobility, site migration, load balanced workloads. Data centers can be connected in various ways such as using dedicated fiber links (dark fiber), Layer 2 Trunk with STP, Layer 3 point-to-point links, and more. This document describes how to achieve Multisite Data Center Interconnection using Virtual eXtensible LAN (VxLAN) and Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN).
