In this chapter, the methods of obtaining network data using gNMI were covered. The information about gNMI, gNMI modes, supported RPC operations, use cases, and sample examples for gNMI were covered. Visibility into scalable networks is orchestrated using advanced telemetry. Thus, the use of gNMI for the streaming of data from the network device and the functionality to configure and retrieve operational and configuration states provides a powerful method for switch management.
