The following table shows the VLANs used in the existing VxRail cluster. After the leaf and spine switches are placed in SmartFabric mode, the same VLANs will be configured as virtual networks.
VLAN-ID | Description |
1811 | External Management |
1812 | VMware vMotion |
1813 | VMware vSAN |
1814 | Guest Network -1 |
1815 | Guest Network -2 |
3939 | VxRail Node Discovery VLAN |
For VxRail, the External Management, vMotion, vSAN, and VxRail node discovery VLANs are required. The guest networks used in this guide are optional and included for reference only. The VLAN IDs used in this guide are examples only, except for 3939. In SmartFabric mode, VLANs 1 through 3999, excluding 3939, are available for general use. VxRail uses 3939 as the default VLAN ID for node discovery.
SFS reserves VLANs 4000-4094. If your deployment requires a VLAN in this range, you will not be able to proceed with the migration.
