When file systems are protected within a protection policy in the Data Manager Appliance, you can recover the file system data by using the centralized Data Manager Appliance restore functionality, or directly by using the self-service restore feature.
The Data Manager Appliance provides the following options to restore file system workload data:
Note: File level indexing, search, and recovery is supported:
-- for File System file-based backup (FBB) with Data Manager Appliance version 5.12.0.1
-- for File System block-based backup (BBB) with Data Manager Appliance version 5.13.0.0.
Starting with Data Manager appliance version 5.15.0.0, you can browse Active Directory (AD) backups, mount, search and restore AD objects through the central Data Manager appliance UI. This feature allows you to restore granular AD objects such as User objects, Computer Objects, Printer Objects, Shared folders, Group/Group Policy Objects, Organizational Units, Contact Objects, and one or more attributes.
