A BasicDisk type storage unit consists of a directory on a locally attached disk or a network-attached disk that is exposed as a file system to a NetBackup media server.
PowerProtect DD can be configured as a BasicDisk storage unit when it is either NFS or CIFS mounted on a NetBackup media server.
On a NetBackup media server that runs a version of the Windows operating system, the absolute pathname to a directory to access the PowerProtect DD should be specified with either the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) or the DFS path name.
