VxRail 7.0.240 release provides new VxRail dynamic nodes featuring more flexible storage options for scaling and addressing expanded workloads. These nodes expand VxRail deployment configurations and addressable use cases by attaching to external storage. VxRail release 7.0.320 expands this capability even further to support PowerFlex.
VxRail dynamic nodes are ESXi compute nodes with VxRail HCI system software and the full VxRail LCM experience. They have no internal storage and are designed to take advantage of VMware HCI Mesh or external storage arrays as their primary storage.
Dynamic nodes enable VxRail to expand beyond typical HCI use cases such as VDI to address more compute-intensive analytics workloads. Support for cloud-based predictive analytics is becoming critical for converged infrastructure providers and enterprise storage providers.
